These are some pieces by an artist called Robert Mcginnis, who is an American artist and illustrator. His work is from the 60's era and he created over 40 movie posters some of which included Barbarella, Breakfast at Tiffanys and James Bond films. The work he has done is amazing, below are a few of my favourites. All the women look so alluring and seductive I love it!

Batman!

Recently I have been watching the re-plays of the 60's Adam West Batman series and they are so much fun! The whole cast must of been high on something to pull off these series thats all i can say! Highly entertaining for me at 3 in the afternoon.

Circus on the Move!

Got the ball rolling with getting my magazine pages sorted! I have just loaded up my images and started working on them in photoshop, i'm already getting excited about them! They are going to look great, only problem is i my college has been closed for a week! soooo our group hasnt met up to see where we are all at so i've just had to crack on and do what i thinks best for now, adjusments can be made later!

Heres the start of my pieces....

Crime Story- Lobster Boy
Profile- Lady Le Gros, Fat Lady and an interview with her.

Coulrophobia- Fear of clowns, News Story

As you can see i still have a fair bit of work to do, all the spaces are for the written parts of the article as you can probably gues. This project will be good practice for me with using text because its one area i'm not so confident in

Roll up Roll up!
Circus is in town!

Well not actually but the project i am currently working on is a magazine based on the circus. I'm working with 2 other people in the class, and together we have to make a 40 page piece. We have separated off to focus on different aspects of the circus and will in the next 2 weeks be bringing all together so watch out i should have som
e work to put up soon!

I am focusing on 'freaks' , 'coulrophobia', 'crime stories', 'profile of a fat lady', and 'future circus'.

Check out this website its amazing for really weird stories about sideshow stars and freaks-

Seven Deadly Sins Continued....

Just a quicky...got some proper photographs taken of my seven deadly sins project and they look amazing. I toyed around with shadow more and got some really great high contrast pics, here they are....

Tone

I have recently designed a piece for Tone which is a small magazine that gives people a chance to show their work and advertise themselves. The theme was 'character' so i designed a piece called 'Batman- the later years'. As you can see it's a more humorous take on batman, and not as dark as some of my usual pieces! I am trying to direct my work towards a more pleasant style.

Self Portrait

Well I have been working on a project called connect>create and I have finaly finished my piece.

It is a self portrait with a surreal retro twist. I used inspiration from Peter Blake's pop art work, combining what i like from day to day (which is pretty much what every other young woman likes, jewellry, reading, a good cuppa tea, having a drink, listening to music, reading, texting and drawing) I feel having produced it on photoshop adds more to the idea of it being a modern self portrait. Well see what you think...
I'm still not entirely happy with it but its always a piece i can come back to when i get a spurt of creativness!
