Soap Box Press

I've written an article for SoapBox Press which was quite fun! They asked me if I wanted to do one on what inspires me and the kind of things I've found through my Illustration. So if you want to check it out and read it, along with lots of other fantastic articles from other creative's go to there website http://soapboxpress.tumblr.com/

My article's named 'Dark Side' and has my Elvis Presley signing a ladies chest image underneath.

Untold Method

Untold Method is a bi-monthly on-line magazine, that features creative writing, artwork and an independent graphic novel called Philistone. I have recently done a piece for Untold Method's Philistone series as you can see above.
The synopsis of the graphic novel is:

'Philistone is about Jack Titor who is a fuck-up.
He's heading towards middle-age, leaving nothing but a trail of missed opportunities, regrets and a life half lived. Until one day he see's a mysterious advert online, promising fresh new experiences, lifelong change and adventure.
When Jack replies to the ad he is fitted with a philistone implant. The implant begins to blur the lines between his inner world and the world outside. His dreams come to life on city streets, he meets gods in pubs and devils in back-alleys. Haunted by memories, beliefs and nightmares he is forced on a psychedelic journey through his own mind, that will strip away everything he is, never knowing if at the end of it he'll find madness or revelation.'

If you want to see the graphic novel which features lots of amazing art work from other illustrators check it out at http://philistone.untoldmethod.com/ Enjoy!

The Apex Project

Another project I've been working on is the Apex Project that is run by Mike Tierney at the moment. The idea is for lots of different artists to come together and design a tattoo, which will then in the end be projected on to bodies as a live art piece. You can find out more at http://cargocollective.com/tierneytv/The-Apex-Project the deadline is the 31st of July so next Monday! Hope you like my design!

Goodnight Ohio

It feels like it's been an age since I last blogged! Yet time has flown by! I have been up to quite a lot, I went down to the D&ad at the end of last month (which I still need to blog about), I've been working at my bar job (which is starting to be the only place I get to communicate with the outside world now I've finished uni!) and then I've been cracking on with some illustration.

This piece here is a flyer/poster I've recently done for a gig at Fruit in Hull, the band liked the flyer so much they wanted to use the design for their band t-shirts! So I'm looking forwards to seeing the t-shirts printed up! The band is called Goodnight Ohio and you can find them on facebook - http://www.facebook.com/wearegoodnightohio

EastEnd-Nerd Part 2

So I was going to do a Phil Mitchell character but it turns out his bald head is hard to draw without making him look too much like Dr Evil! I may give it another bash another day but for now here is good old Dot Cotton instead :) Enjoy!

EastEnd-Nerd

EastEnders is kind of my guilty pleasure, I always enjoy taking that half hour break to watch it! Having just finished uni FOREVER (arghh!) I thought between a couple of projects I'm doing I'd have some fun drawing out some classic Enders characters. Next installant will be good old baddie Phill Mitchell....keep an eye out!

Fear and Loathing Follow up

Thought I would do a follow up on how the Cult Cinema Fear and Loathing night went! These photos where taken by  Thomas Arran-Photographer ( http://www.flickr.com/photos/thomasarran). It was a fantastic night with a great turn out and I sold quite a lot of my prints which is always a bonus! Prints of my poster and James Fenwick's poster are still available at http://www.cultcinemasunday.bigcartel.com/ if anyone's interested.
